A Spool of Thread

Have you read the wonderful Tale of Despereaux?
In the words of its amazing author, it’s a story “of a Mouse, a Princess, Some Soup, and a Spool of Thread.”

I found these fabulous vintage spools of thread at a thrift store and couldn’t help but take some photos. I love the wooden spools and how after all these years the thread is still beautiful. And now everytime I see a spool of thread, I can’t help but remember this fantastic book.

Delicate Lilac Tablescape

Focusing on heartfelt portraits is definitely my signature, but I can’t help but adore these images of a delightful bridal shower. Julie’s wedding colors were lilac and a mossy green, and they just sparkled in this lovely tablescape. You have to feel a little in love just viewing it.

Warmhearted Winter Wedding

Winter weddings are so much fun because they stand out as unique, and have a style all their own. Don’t you just love the bubbles combined with the wintry atmosphere?

I picked my two absolute images to share here; I never get tired of seeing them! This is from just one of the several weddings I’ve shot with my dad (he does fantastic photography in Hutchinson, KS).

Adorable Engagement: Chad and Becky

I love it when K-Staters get married… it just seems like all is right in the world. The fall colors visible on the first image are just divine. If you’re ever wondering what season to schedule your engagement pictures, I say autumn all the way.

Take a Photo, Make a Shirt

This is my sister. Isn’t she gorgeous? I did a photoshoot with her and then I started playing with the image, to make it more like a graphic. I ended up with this, and then took it to our local Tshirt shop, Thread, and made it into a shirt to give to her husband. Lovely!
